Does anyone else, like me, do Live Action Role-Play, and if so, what are your stats?

I'm afraid not, though I was thinking of joining Labyrinthe. Is that where you play?

No...what's Labyrinthe? Are we talking about the same thing here? LARP is running round open spaces hitting people with swords to a plot line, lol! If anyone is interested in my stats, here they are:
Character name: Kulaemii Race: Elf Class: Scout Skills: Literacy and Numeracy, Endurance Rank III, Dagger use I, Sword use II, Tracklore I, Hypnosis I
Pretty cool, huh?

Yes, I do know what LARP is. Labyrinthe is a LARP club at Chiselhurst (played largely in the caves there) attended by people all over the country (apparently); I know (or, rather, knew) a couple of players. Its website, however, doesn't seem to exist at the moment, so it just might have folded.

Ah...Lol no, I don't do the travelling thing as of yet, since I'm still settling into uni. I belong to the uni society which is enough at the moment. I'm sorry if I sounded patronising - I ask people if they do LARP and a lot turn around and say "Yeah! I play Warhammer!" or similar, and it just makes me want to say "Nooooo...listen to the question...Live Action Role-Play."
Oh dear, I sound terrible.

LARP and the world LARPs with you. I don't do any LARP, but... ... I did used to 'play' Knightmare! I'd blindfold my younger sister with a scarf, and guide her around the house, voicing different characters. Loft, upstairs, downstairs = Levels 1,2 and 3! Household objects took on a Knightmarish mysticism, e.g. a soapdish became a talisman! There goes my embarassing confession! I wonder if anyone else did - or does - anything similar?

We used to play it in the playground at school until it was banned after some kid was guided off the causeway (Monkey bars) and broke his arm.
...can't help but snerk at it even to this day ;D

Great to hear that others of you reenacted Knightmare as well! Going back to LARP, there was an enlightening article about it in yesterday's Sunday Times Magazine. It includes a theory on how LARP started (an elf beats an orc in a game of Dungeons and Dragons; the defeated player says 'I'm not having that... let's take this outside!' ) Worth reading... www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2099-855842,00.html No doubt this article has brought a respectful awareness of LARP to a wide audience. Emii, would you like me to scan or post you the original article (it had plenty of exciting photos)?

OK. There are only about 4 scanners between 26,000 of us at my Uni, so scanning (then ending up with huge jpgs) is less convenient. If you let me have the address of your University department, I can 'snail mail' the article to your student pigeonhole, rather than to your residential address, which you should probably keep to yourself. Or, you may discover that one of your friends is a closet Sunday Times reader and has a copy in your neck of the woods...
