Why haven't I been here for a few days? Well I started getting the cold last Thursday and from Friday to Tuesday I was full up with it (bleurgh!). I just took it easy yesterday, reading and stuff. My poor mum's got it now!

I still feel kinda weird, sort of light-headed. I reckon I caught it from some person on the train.

Damn British Transport! They really should have some kind of filtration system on trains and stuff!

Guess what happened to the train I came in on this morning? Its brakes decided to malfunction as it was just coming into the station! It stopped suddenly and everyone staggered that was standing up (including me, lol!). The train driver announced that there was a technical problem and that they'd soon have it sorted. It took over 10 minutes! Every now and again the train would crawl a little bit further, only to stop again and make everyone lose their balance! Eventually we got in to the station and everyone rushed off! What a palava!

Typical of Britain I'm afraid. Our rail companies don't want to spend the money upgrading to a decent service, because then they'd lose money.

And they keep putting the fares up too I can see a future where it costs £10 for a day return to Glasgow from where I live (it costs £5.40 at the mo ).

Well, the whole system has been neglected so much for so long that its financially and logistically impossible to fix it. All they can do is jury-rig it every now and again while the fatcats at the top sit around and wait for the chair of a supermarket chain or something.
Sorry to hear you're ill, GameGirl. Hope you and your mum are feeling better soon.
