Anyone know where I can get a free virus detector and firewall - a full version, not one of those trial versions where you have a limited time then have to pay for the real version. I did have one, but it caused me some problems and I had to delete it. I was going to get a Norton one, but found out you had to pay for it - typical!

Indeed - we use the Norton program on the laptop at home and it's removed a few spybots. I hate those. I'm afraid I don't know where they can be found but I'd be interested in knowing as well. Btw, Gamegirl: we're both using BT Openworld. Did you know that the vast majority of hacking into computers using it is by BT themselves? Interesting.

AVG Free Edition (www.grisoft.com) is great (unless you're running a network, in which case you'll need the commercial version).
The Rough Guide to the Internet, which reccommended AVG, also reccommends The Cleaner (www.moosoft.com) for Trojans, ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com) as a firewall and Ad-aware (www.lavasoft.de) for dealing with Spyware, but I haven't tried any of them myself.
