Talking of place names there are some strange ones in Norfolk including Wymondham (pronounced Windom), Happisborough* (*spelling, pronounced Haysbro') etc. On the subject of silent letters though why is there a lot of those words beginning with ps and the p is not pronounced. Another thing which is confusing is Welsh words and the way some of them are pronounced. Going back to Kn words and Knightmare though, I remember looking at the photos on the main site that were sent in by Ray Lockton, with one particular one with a large piece of paper or something with Knightmare spelt Nightmare .

I thought that it was Jaffa cakes ;D. With me it's just most sweet things as like most of us it's sometimes a habit of having something in my mouth.

I wont go there. I meant food, fingers and fags although I don't smoke I do tend to bite the skin around my fingernails. Anyway moving swiftly on I have just dyed my hair and what I'd like to know is why whenever I put a dark blonde on my hair (which is supposed to turn my hair medium to light brown as my hair's black) does my hair turn red. It's the second time I've tried to dye it dark blonde/light brown and it's gone red for the second time . *sigh* Maybe it will turn/appear the right colour when it dries this time or when the room's lighter.

And ANOTHER thing... why is it at Sainsbury's they have those signs that say "Automatic door, push button for access"?

On the subject of automatic doors our main Barclays branch has a disabled access door which has a button to press, which will open the door from the outside. But all you need to do is to push the door and it will open so why have the button! Also its only fully automatic from the inside whereas it only becomes automatic from the outside, when it's already partially open and you have started to move inside.

A major Pointless Query for me has been... why did Cadbury's change their branding to Cadbury? In fact, this bothered me so much that I emailed Cadbury's to ask them about it! If you can bear to ferret around on my website, you'll find the emails & responses, and some rather pathetic ranting from me.

How come the KM party thread shows five pages on The Cafe section when it actually has 33 pages?

It was moved from another board a couple of months back. It only shows the number of pages added SINCE it was moved.

And ANOTHER thing... why are wrong numbers always engaged? Don't you mean, 'never engaged'? Because that's true.

Why can people never stick to arrangements made on the phone? I have made arrangements in person, via MSN Messenger, Via email and Via letter and they have gone smoothly. Whenever an arrangment is made by phone it is cancelled or someone is late. Why?

The world is split into 2 halves. Those who are never late if they can help it, and those who are always late.
