Been watching Batman on FX channel and a weird thought occured to me...
What if Batman and Robin went down the wrong batpoles (Robin takes the one on the left and Batman takes the one on the right)? Would they reach the bottom in the wrong outfits, so we see Bruce Wayne in a bright red tunic with green shorts and a cloak that only goes down as far as his shoulder blades, and Dick Grayson in an outfit so baggy that his trousers fall down every time he tries to walk forward?
And have you ever noticed in the title sequence for Batman, right at the beginning when Batman and Robin are running into battle, that Robin is always running slightly ahead of Batman? Do you get the feeling that Batman's letting him go first so that if anything bad happens, it happens to the squirt?
And why is 'doing' spelt 'DOING!' like the noise a plastic ruler makes when you wobble it?
And another thing, why is it at the end of films like Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Excalibur and whatnot, they always bother putting in that disclaimer, "All characters and events portrayed in this motion picture are fictitious and any resemblance to any event, person or persons living or dead is entirely coincidental"? Do they seriously believe there's any danger whatsoever of the viewers thinking otherwise?
And why is it a box marked "This Way Up" always has that little arrow on it? Surely the way up the writing is printed is all the indicator we need.
And ANOTHER thing...

I'll add to this:
Why on earth do we need a silent "h" in a lot of words? Why does it need to be there in the first place? For example: doughnut (actually, the 'u' and the 'g' aren't needed either 'cause we pronounce it donut). The English language baffles me sometimes...

Yeah, and silent k's as well!
Try and pronounce "knot-kneed knucklehead knocked knitting-needle salesman on the kneecap" by pronouncing all the k's, and see how it sounds.

And ANOTHER thing...
Why are people from England called Englishmen? People from Scotland are called Scots, so why aren't the Sassenachs called "Engs"?

And ANOTHER thing...
Why do parents spend five years trying to teach us to speak if they're going to spend the next twelve years telling us to shut up all the time?

Some answers:
The Bat Poles; yes they would be dressed in different attire but as the poles had huge signs saying "DICK" and "BRUCE", kinda eliminated any errors!
The Bat Chase; Yours eyes are playing tricks!
This Way Up is printed with the arrow in case people think that the writing is printed on the top rather than the side, so would actually opening it from the side!

Er... well all right.
And ANOTHER thing. Why is there always a little hole in the side of a Biro?

Yeah, and silent k's as well! Try and pronounce "knot-kneed knucklehead knocked knitting-needle salesman on the kneecap" by pronouncing all the k's, and see how it sounds. Aha! But... if 'knight' were spelt 'night', then there'd be no point in calling Knightmare 'Knightmare' - we'd have to call it 'Nightmare', which carries no double meaning. Be grateful for the silent k, I say! Now, if only Vernon Kaye were a silent Kaye... (It is the TV show Dalziel and Pascoe that really annoys me, as the former name is pronounced 'Diel', meaning that it has a silent 'alz'!)

Place names are always awkward as well!
Near Notingham there is a place called Gotham <honestly, cool aint it> but it is pronouced Goat-ham!
Another offender is in a place in Derby named Ilkeston, but is pronouced by most of the people that live there as Ilson! I wouldnt mind but ther are three pretty stong letters missing there!

If Capital Gold's broadcast from Manchester, and it is, why is it called CAPITAL Gold?

The Bat Chase; Your eyes are playing tricks! I've just watched the sequence again, and if you look closely you can see that the trailing hem of Robin's cape is definitely AHEAD of Batman's shoulder, so he must be running ahead of him. I'm telling you, the Bat-b*st*rd is definitely using him as bullet-fodder!!!!!

>Sigh!< Am I just a victim of constant unlucky timing, or has EVERYBODY completely lost their sense of humour in the last couple of weeks?

And ANOTHER thing... If Capital Gold's broadcast from Manchester, and it is, why is it called CAPITAL Gold? Capital Gold was originally based in London (the capital!), and shares a building with its sister station, Capital FM (home of Chris Tarrant, Dr. Fox et al). It has since spread to other cities, including Manchester and Birmingham; and although some of the DJs broadcast locally (mainly the breakfast show DJs and the newscasters), most of the broadcasts come from Leicester Square in London. It is a fantastic radio station, and I listen to it a lot.

That's a good, perfectly reasonable, and rationally-explained answer.
DAMMIT!!! Why can't you people let me just carry on being exasperated for a while?
