Perplexing. I wish I could say, wholeheartedly, that it was wonderful to see Hugo Myatt as Treguard again, even for the briefest of moments. But... I was up very late on the KM Roleplay Forum (it was worth it!), and sitting through 2 hours of Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow on only a few hours' sleep was challenging. Why 'Bungalow'? Because they seem to have nothing upstairs. I wanted to tell the 'bungalow-heads' (who were probably still babies when Series 8 ended) to release Treguard and lock up D&D instead! Is there a Dick And Dom messageboard where we can tell the young 'uns just who the bearded gentleman was, and that they can watch him again soon? Still, it was a good day for Knightmare fans. Interestingly, regarding the Looney Tunes cartoon with Porky Pig and the Dodo... I think I have that on video, being shown before a KM episode on CITV! There was a Dodo character in Tiny Toon Adventures, which I reckon was a spin-off from that cartoon. I have a page on my website devoted the Saturday morning kids' TV show that I enjoyed the most (although seeing as Pat Sharp presented it, it probably isn't fondly remembered round these parts). Its producer now works on D&D's rival show, The Ministry Of Mayhem on CITV; and I look forward to telling her that she has nothing to worry about!

I was wondering also about if many of the kids no who Hugo Myatt/Treguard is as they were probably wondering "Who's he". I mean some of them have probably been watching Knightmare whilst it's been shown on Challenge but I somehow doubt for some reason that it's very many. Also we saw the later Treguard so even if the youngsters had seen him on Challenge they might not have recognised him. I missed right at the beginning so I don't know if he got an introduction or not. Anyway each time they showed him and particularly after the Oooooh... Nasty bit at the end I thought more and more that he could definately be Treguard in the Knew Knightmare and I think he'd be better at it now then in the original series' (even though I liked the old Treguard). I hope that Treguard gets more guest appearances in the future. Just a thought also maybe there could be a Knightmare spin off quiz show set in a Knightmare type castle and hosted by Treguard if you know what I mean.

As far as I'm aware, Treguard's only appearance on terrestrial TV since KM Series 8 was as a clip on Channel 4's 'Greatest Kids' TV Shows', which some of 'today's youngsters' may have watched for 'educational' purposes. *screams in mental agony* I MISSED IT! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS ON! Please don't be vexed. There was plenty of 'mental agony' among those of us who watched the full 2-hour programme - it really had low entertainment value. There's a good chance that screen grabs/ clips will be put up on knightmare.com eventually, and that will be the best way to enjoy the appearance. Seeing Treguard live was a novelty, but overall, the show was not enjoyable.

Don't forget the CITV birthday bash which I missed . Lets hope CITV will have sence and show something similar again in the near future.

*screams in mental agony* I MISSED IT! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS ON! Oh. Well I'd sympathise, but as Drassil says, I think those of us who saw it were the ones who drew the short straws.

I found it quiet boring, and shame Lord Fear didn't come and free his Nemesis from that cage so that they can torture those 2 Imbaceils that are supposed to be Presenters.
Staturday Morning TV sure has gone Idiotic these days.

Erm, there are a couple of things which we should consider:
(1) How old are we? What is the age range of that show's target audience?
(2) Hugo Myatt has played Treguard again for the first time in almost a decade! And he was on BBC1! Don't underestimate the potential significance of that.
Today has been a truly seminal day for Km, I think. I rank it alongside that week in November 2002.

I blame ScratchyTV (or whatever it was called) for bringing about the downfall of Children's Saturday morning TV.
Apart from Tricky (Which was a short-lived show featuring an animated dragon and a cat called 'Purrley' (Or whatever that kid who called in suggested the name), which was a nice, slower-paced show with no gunge), and the golden age of SM:TV (i.e. Ant and dec, when they'd settled in).
Even if I was 4, I'd still hate the show. I just wouldn't know what was going on. Just give me my fix of shows, a few simple-light-hearted-games (The magic trick thing wasn't that bad an idea, and 'bogies' was a childish yet mildly amusing thing).
Bring back those TouchTone games! That's what we need! Or something like some actual guests. You could have had people phoning in to a pop celeb (Say, this week it could have been Peter Andre), or Hugo himself.
Apparently, Timmy Mallett was in the same situation a couple of weeks ago as Hugo.
Wackaday reruns anyone?

On the subject of Saturday morning shows can anyone remember the ones that used to be on. They were also a lot better than the ones that they show today. But I think Mally's right though what age range are the programmes aged at! When we were young the age range was larger and the upper age limit was also higher like with Knightmare. The old shows upper age range I would say was probably about maybe fifteen or maybe slightly younger, whereas todays shows the upper age range I would say is about 8-10, which in that case we wouldn't of course injoy those shows.

Curse Dawn Airey for forever changing the demographic range of kids TV programming from 5-15 to 5-10!
She also helped to kill off Knightmare, before eventually ending up at five during the 'shaky start' years. Now five doesn't have so much sex, or documentaries about Hitler, its become a better channel.
Actually, that's because it just imports crime shows from the US, like Law & Order (Dun-Dun!) and CSI (Whoooo are you? Who-who? Who-who?).
At least the Ministry of Mayhem (I think) has some celebrities, rather than putting up with what was on today. Celebrities! A bit of sideshow! An amusing sidekick (Two leprachauns anyone? Er, no. ;D)

I don't know whether it's too sporting to name names with regards to that. At least things seem to be working out at last, after such a long wait.

I only saw the last half hour, so only saw his final "Oooh Nasty!"
As for the show, Dick and Dom are better when they dont play for kids of that age!
When they presented, they were funny, and they also did a kids programme where they exchanged jobs and learned how to do them in a short time, (like Faking it for kids), and that was really good!
There was a bit that made me giggle though, and that was them shouting in the museum in France! That was funny!

Did anyone catch the beginning of the show? Did they introduce Treguard or anything?
