Every night for the last week or so, I've been watching Ulysses 31 on Fox Kids. Now I can't remember the actual episodes because although I watched them when I was a wee kid I had only vague memories of it - what Ulysses looked like, the space theme and the theme tune. It's great it's been repeated again because now I can appreciate the actual stories (it's really very good! Nono the robot is v. cute, I wouldn't mind having a robot pal like him).
That got me thinking about the other cartoons I watched when I was a kid. These include:
Dangermouse Count Duckula Scooby Doo Duck Tales Mysterious Cities of Gold Belle and Sebastian Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds Legends of Treasure Island Around The World In 80 Days (I think that's what it was) Inspector Gadget Rupert (the real cartoon, not the still version that was on CBBC)
There's probably more but these are the main ones...so, what cartoons like these did you watch when you were a kid?

I remember watching almost all of those. I remember watching Duck Tails on a Monday afternoon in 1987 because it preceded Km. The Real Ghostbusters preceded it in 1988. Dangermouse was slightly before my time but I catch it every now and again on Boomerang, courtesy of student house NTL.

Oh yeah, I remember The Real Ghostbusters too...and I've seen a few episodes of Dangermouse too recently - although I can't remember the stories much! Lol, the humour in it is too advanced for today's kids, I think! ;D
There should be another UK TV channel added - one with all the kid's shows we used to watch!

Carebears, Magic Roundabout, One I think used to be called Ox Tails Alvin and the Chipmunks The Flintstones The Jetsons Tiny toon adventures and ones that you've mentioned already GG. I'll try and think of more later!

My favourites from various times included Dogtanian, Sandokan (so far I've met only one other person who remembers this one), Captain Planet, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain. I also remember The Dreamstone, Rupert, Treasure Island, Pigeon Street, Wisdom of the Gnomes and, more vaguely, Superted, Ox Tales, Count Duckula, Fantastic Max, Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers.

The original Pink Panther cartoons were and are my favourites. Can you imagine someone approaching a cartoon studio today and saying, 'I've got a great idea for a kids' cartoon character: he walks around naked, he smokes, and he never speaks'? Well, they managed it with the Pink Panther! And they won an Oscar with the very first cartoon.
The Warner Bros. cartoons that were embedded in Saturday morning CITV were good too. Some cartoons, like the Raggy Dolls, I would rather forget.

I Liked The Raggy Dolls. I also liked a Kids show called Tugs if that rings any bells, it was similer in style to Tommas The Tank Engine but with Tug Boats instead of Trains.

Thundercats The Real Ghostbusters Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Bravestarr Around the world w/ Willy Fogg Mysterious Cities of Gold Defenders of the Earth He-Man Count Duckula Superted
And probalbly more which I cant remember at the moment!
On another note, I know it aint a cartoon, but does anyone remember Superboy from the late 80's? I think it was on Saturdays, I liked that too!

One thing though about old cartoons is that you know that you're getting old when they start re-releasing the cartoons that we used to watch and start showing them to todays kids and also others get shown on Boomerang . I was asked by a four year old the other day if I've seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, no I didn't watch it when it was the craze many years ago but it reminded me of when it was on when I was not much older then that particular child though.

Count Duckula! I recently bought a DVD of it for old times sake. I've watched it over and over, and it's strangely addictive. My favourite character was Nanny. Anyone remember "Ooh, my poor little Ducky-boos"?
Other programmes:
Dungeons and Dragons Trapdoor Mysterious Cities of Gold Superted Around the World in 80 Days with Willy Fogg He-man Thundercats
