I've now written the beginning of my second Knightmare fanfiction story, having had several positive reviews of the first one. It's another Quantum Leap/Knightmare crossover, and it's called (for the moment), 'I, Julius'. It won't feature any new characters as such, but will include characters who have never (or hardly ever) been seen on Knightmare before.
I probably won't post it on fanfiction.net until it's finished, but in the meantime, would people like to read an extract?

I finished writing the story earlier - so it's all down on paper, waiting to be typed up...

Thank you. Did you have any opinions on the first one?

... Apparently not. Well, I'm going to post the beginning of the story here, and if any of you would like to read it, then you will. ' 'Out of place', 'out of time' and 'out of the blue' are expressions that seem overused to many people. But for Doctor Sam Beckett, taking quantum leaps between the bodies of men and women (and even chimpanzees) who have lived during his lifetime, heralded by a burst of ethereal blue energy, the expressions each had a powerful and fresh significance. Sam had leaped again. Immediately he felt wind streaking past him, a dryness in his throat, and saw a blur of trees around him. He was running. But with the disorientation of the leap still riddling his mind, he couldn't maintain it. He slowed down; and as he did, a force came up behind him and tripped him. Swinging through the air, he tumbled off the path and through a crackling flurry of autumn leaves, which had no doubt had a more sedate fall from their branches than Sam. Whetted fingernails pressed into his arms, as he was rolled over onto his back. Still too surprised to let terror seize him, Sam tried to focus. The tall figure of his pursuer - his captor now - loomed over him. Her wide eyes were aimed at his; her crossbow was aimed at his chest. She caught her breath as deftly as she'd caught Sam, and opened her lips. "Just what were you doing killing deer in my Greenwood? Answer me, Scaramonger!" "Oh boy." ' (Apologies for the 'double post', though there is a 10-day gap between them.)

I've read the excerpts you sent me a few days ago, Drass. It's great fun, and your writing style has sharpened noticeably since you wrote the first one. I do love the handle you've got on Sam and Al, it REALLY is them when you write them.
Looking forward to reading the whole story in all its triumph!

Really? Thank you! I've attempted more than one twist in the complete story, which, if they don't work, could well undermine any positive points of style. My main aim is to write a story that is faithful to KM, despite the crossover nature. It's a shame that the only place to see more Quantum Leap is 5am on UK Gold, or via pirate videos on eBay; I've not seen nearly enough. Thanks again for your comments. Let me just round off this thread, with an edit to say that the completed fanfic is now up. www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1709231

Drass, I read that story and have to say you are one of the best Fan Fic writers in relation to KM I have seen. (I say one of so not to offend other good writers Like Emii, HStorm, Elita and others) I love Quantam Leap and the KM crossovers sound just like real episodes. Kudos to you on a great fan fic

Wow. I really don't deserve a compliment like that. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Why not? I happen to agree wholeheartedly that you ARE one of the best KM fanfickers. (Don't forget, there aren't that many of us!) And the quality of the QL crossovers is remarkably high.

True, True. Don't worry Drass it's nice to see you being modest but you really do deserve my comments. Look forward to your next work!
